we have been implementing a family 'no-technology day' each sunday for a couple of months now:
motivates us to get outside as a family for a run, walk, ride, scooter, etc.;
and miraculously encourages creative play together [building cubbies, making a shop, etc.]
this sunday, i got them to design their own 'flat pets'
["design" used loosely here... i was under considerable instruction]
anais' was, of course, a cat
modelled on our own real-life version
[currently threatened with death by over-love]
[surely a technical term somewhere...]
thinking that our next wet sunday activity will be embellishment:
our very own animal-in-progress.
for now, petted and dragged about for show and tell.
